TAT Israel’s maskant materials are highly credited in the gas turbine engine industry, where they are applied in Aluminide coating processes for new or overhauled parts. Our products have been uniquely developed to prevent Aluminide coating deposition on masked areas of treated airfoils. T-block mask is sold as a ready-to-use product. Available as a generic tape roll or tailor-made cut-out per customer requirements, to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Masking putty is a unique development, designed to block high-temperature Aluminide deposition. Being soft and pliable, putty allows protection on complex geometries, while masking tape is less flexible and used mainly on straight surfaces. Both tapes and putties form an effective barrier, which will not bind with the substrate metal, due to a separating layer. We guarantee superb adhesion and no flagging in the process.

What are T-Block Masking Products?

The T-block masking tapes T-1525 are ready-to-use masking tapes and putties “tailor made” per customer requirements which offers much more flexibility and efficiency in the production line.
Two types of masking products are available: Tapes and Putties.
Both products serve the same purpose of high-temperature coating masking. However, the putty is extremely flexible which allows protection at sharp edges and corners, while the tape is less flexible and used mainly on straight surfaces but has a longer shelf-life.
TBC has developed a unique method of manufacturing its T-Block masking tapes T-1525 as a one whole stand-alone product which already contains the combination of two layers:
– The protective layer – acts as a “target” to the diffusion coating
– The separating layer – prevents the protective layer from sintering to the base metal.

Both types of masking products are custom sized manufactured and can be supplied as rollers or preforms per customer requirements & drawings.

The TBC T-Block masking tapes T-1525 eliminate the need for ordinary masking methods associated with powders and slurries and form a much safer and accurate method which assures the prevention of coating leakage or masking leakage to unwanted areas.
